Hello! I’m Lauren. Born in Devon and raised in Norfolk, with the sandy dunes on my door step. Growing up near both the coast and countryside, I have always had a strong connection with nature and wildlife, this hugely inspires my creative practise today. From days spent as a child having heartfelt conversations with my Labrador, to beach walks that ended with gifts of wildflowers for my mum (now recognised as mostly weeds). But the thought was there!

 

I studied Illustration BA Hons at Norwich University of the Arts, where I discovered my love for narrative illustration. Since graduating I have been working as a freelance illustrator, illustrating my own greeting cards, bespoke prints, books jackets and adorable pet commissions. At the heart of my practice is Wildlife illustration. I’m fascinated by the individuality of each creature's character and the environments they inhabit, drawing inspiration from the subtle textures and markings found throughout the natural world.

My creative process involves a lot of exploration and play with different mediums, which includes, gouache, watercolour, pens, pencils, pastels and what ever I get my hands on. You’ll often find me outdoors with my sketchbook, immersed in the landscape and environment around me.
